KLA Second Wave Hawaii Superstar Sunday: October 7, 2012

The KAUAI LIFEGUARD ASSOCIATION FIRST WAVE CELEBRATION was a five-month long ocean awareness and ocean safety program that raised funds thru a variety of campaigns with Kauai’s Rotary Clubs, public and private sector donations as well as a star studded concert. The net proceeds from this event enabled the KLA to purchase Yamaha Wave Runners and ATVs so that our lifeguards at all stations around Kauai are now even better equipped for rescue missions and day-to-day activities.

The response was overwhelming. The KLA has plans for a SECOND WAVE CELEBRATION and campaign beginning in April 2012 and continuing thru early October. It will focus on a variety of features, programs, and organizations that support ocean safety for Kauai's residents and visitors alike. When joined together as a KLA OHANA these organizations have a far greater impact than just the sum of their parts. Thus the KLA OHANA will combine a variety of activities, communications, signage, and equipment that will reinforce ocean safety island wide in 2012.

The KLA Second Wave Superstar Sunday on October 7, 2012 will be held at Kauai's Kilohana Plantation from 3:00-9:00 p.m. starring: Andy Bumatai, John Cruz and band, Henry Kapono and band, Kalapana, and Willie K. and band. Along with the headlining musical acts, the celebration will include food and refreshments, live and silent auctions, vendor tables, and sweepstakes drawings. Thus continuing to make it the most festive gathering and fundraiser of its kind in Hawaii. Sponsorship, donations, ticket sales, and upcoming event details to be released in the coming weeks.
